Updated project proposal

Project Proposal

My project will be on the renaissance and how the women were killing people as if it was nothing. My project will also focus on several paintings instead of one. It has to deal with the renaissance period in history. One of the paintings is by Elisabetta Sirani Portia wounding her thigh from 1664. A part of my project will be about Artemisia Gentileschi’s painting of Judith decapitating Holofernes c 1618. The last part of project will focus on Orazio Gentileschi’s piece Judith with her maidservant c 1610-1612. This project is going to focus on my skills to make this picture come to life in an art project. The slaughterings deal with my future job career as a physical therapist/ athletic trainer. Athletic trainers are on the line of duty to help out athletes when they are in need. Just this past week I saw the athletic trainer deal with blood and blisters, cuts, broken bones. I feel like somehow very deep that it relates to these paintings but the difference a physical therapist or athletic trainer has to the paintings is that they are actually helping the person out. Meanwhile, Judith is slaughtering and decapitating heads and Elisabetta is wounding her thigh to show her strength. Physical therapists try to get the athletes or clients back to the shape they were in before strong enough to go back to their sport. I will have a tumblr feed with the pictures incorporating physical therapy

  1. Perhaps you can compare the feminist artists you have chosen to today's woman athletes. Emphasize the physical and mental strength between the feminist endurance in choosing to display their strengths as woman artist and today's women athletes.
