Semester project

My project is about how I can bring women artist more to life and have people know about them more. For my project I am going to go to the students center building here at Rutgers and ask students if they can name women artist at least one or two. Also I am going to have pictures of women art and their own picture to show people what kind of work they have done and have them point out things that they liked about the picture or what they disliked about it and explain it to them as of why or how it was done in that matter. I feel that is a great way to bring up the social life about women art and show students that there are many more artists, it's not that they are hidden, or just they don't exist.    We as students do not know much about them and I will do my best to educate the students and bring their knowledge to today's view so they can become more knowledgeable and appreciated by women art, because it's something that is breath taking and amazing to study and view. I will also encourage them to take our class in the future so they can expand their knowledge about women art and their great views and drawings.

    I think this is a good idea because you will be dealing with your peers and will be shedding light on this issue with little or no knowledge on women artists as well as the class. However i think you should maybe consider video recording these encounters and placing them on youtube or the school website that way by placing it on a public forum your addressing the problem to more then just the Rutgers- Newark community.

    I really love the idea of spreading knowledge about women artists who are rarely spoken about. You can probably hand out a questionnaire in different of your classes asking your peers if they know any women artists. That would be awesome.

    All of these are great ideas for a project like this. I feel as if a short documentary featuring student reactions, and even professors or administrators, answering your questions will show just how little the majority knows about female artists. Public display is essential though, so your idea of a public presentation in Robeson is great!

    Like everyone above I agree that a video would be really cool to document your experience. Maybe you can share the video on youtube to have a outside audience and you can post a link at the end of the video where they can learn more about various women artists.

    I think the good part about this idea is that it creates exposure. While many students would never consider learning about this on their own, by putting it in front of them it exposes them to some unfortunate realities. This could lead to the desire to further the persons own understanding of the situation.
